Authorization failed – Apple online store

Description

I recently ordered a MacBook pro via the apple online store and paid using Paypal. Today I got an email from Apple that they failed to get authorization. My bank account is linked with Paypal so it’s definitely not a verification issue. The total amount was somewhere above 4000€ so is there any limit on how much can be paid via Paypal in a month/week/single transaction? If not I don’t understand why the authorization failed. I contacted Apple and they said that it often happens with Paypal that people will order products and they can’t authorize.
