So I can pledge to my own pool but can’t pay into it!?

I understand that I can’t pay in to my own pool but I can (and have) pledged to it; assuming that there must be a way to pay if I can pledge. On realising that my assumption was incorrect I then sent my friend my pledge money and he paid it in and now that money is counted twice in the pool – once as a deposit and once as a pledge. How do I resolve this?
