Paypal with steam payment issues

Hey, im wondering if i could get any help on the issue because im VERY FRUSTRATED with the **bleep** going on with paypal.
I got a gift card for christmas, and because i dont have a single penny in my bank account.(actually at -50$ in there)
i was trying to use my gift card.
i wanted to buy a game on steam with that pre paid gift card.
But steam gave me a hard time as usual to buy with a gift card so i go thru the process of adding that pre paid in my paypal to buy it thru steam that way.
I go thru the checkout and i add the gift card in my paypal, THRU the steam poppup, and it fails there as well.
I reload the page and try again, but this time i didnt need to login my paypal as it ***SHOULD*** have saved my last purchase attempt.
**i buy the game successfully this time**
but wait whats this? my pre paid actually didnt even get charged with anything else??

I check the payment on my paypal and i notice THESE **bleep** WENT BACK BY DEFAULT TO MY BANK ACCOUNT….
I LITERALLY HAVE -50$ ON THERE HOW IN THE EVER LIVING **bleep** DID PAYPAL MANAGE TO PASS A PAYMENT THRU WITH AN EMPTY ACCOUNT!!!
Im trying to get this resolved but PAYPAL IS GIVING ME UNTIL 8th JANUARY FOR A REPLY!!! WTF!!!!
By that time my bank will probably charge me some random fees for i have no freaking clue why.
I literally have no way of paying this, i was looking into closing my bank account since i wasnt using it in the past months but NOW IT LOOKS AS IF IVE GOTTA WAIT WEEKS FOR PAYPAL TO UNFUCK A SITUATION THEIR GOD AWFUL SOFTWARE PUT THEMSELFS INTO….
What even can i do here?
at this exact moment, i dont even have anything in my bank yet, but i also dont wanna have to deal with extra fees for **bleep** i didnt even cause, i tried to buy on steam with my gift card, i have no freaking clue why paypal reverted back to my bank account. its such a **bleep** show i want to close my paypal account after this whole ordeal is done with.
ive always had issues with stuff like this with paypal, im a broke **bleep** student who cant even find a freaking job with this covid bs, i cant pay banks for random **bleep**ups like this. i literally do not have it.
Can paypal unfuck this situation they put myself in, un-charge my bank account and charge my gift card where it was ALL SUPPOSED TO COME FROM……
