Since PayPal gives no one anything for free. We pay to use PayPal. Why should we enable PayPal to enrich its gains with its advertising partners without any tangible benefit to us paying customers. I do not need anyone, especially from faceless, impersonal side of the online business transactions, to tell me or speculate what I want. I always know when, what, where and how much I choose to pay for anything. I know best where to get the best deals on my terms.
I realize there is a growing trend of consumers willing to be told how to spend their funds, which accounts for more people living on credit and stuck paying high rents instead of buying property. Or stuck with very high mortgages for many, many years to pretend they own property, when in actuality the owners are the lenders. PayPal pseudo geniuses must assume most of its customers are mental sheep with reckless deep pockets. There are plenty of pimps, drug pushers and white collar felons with deep pockets, so what! I do not need to pander to any online business unless I too draw personal benefit my way on my terms.
This cookie notification merely gives us the option to click « yes, I accept », and offers no option to decline. As punitive action, PayPal sweeps across the entire bottom section of each page I have to turn with about a 2″ high navy blue box running across the entire page, each page every time I log in. It even blocks other information I need to see. It offers no option to « opt out ». I resent that pompous, elitist, presumptuous attitude. PayPal site has run efficiently and profitably before forcing us to accept cookies. In fact, most of their customer service is now reduced to impersonal, auto generated shallow menu of FAQ’s which take way too much time to navigate. It was faster to obtain answers able to speak with a customer agent. Even the toll free number is deliberately more time consuming to find. Why should I make it easier and more profitable for PayPal to have me hustled while getting help on issues most relevant to me shrinks? In business, benefits and cooperation is a two way street. My cooperation has a price, at least in any business transaction. At least when using email programs for free, I accept seeing ads pop up around the pages. I am getting something of value to me without paying any fees. I accept the occasional ads in exchange for a free useful service. There is nothing free from PayPal. However, if it wants me to accept visibility of those ads, it has to compensate me, simple as that. I am sure the founders and current owners of PayPal do nothing for anyone for free, or they would not be in the top 1-2% of global wealth. So why should I do any charity for their sake? I hate being scammed.
