Direct debit

Hi, My partner has had a direct debit set up on her bank account. She hasn’t knowingly entered in to a direct debit arrangement, however has made a big purchase a couple of days back which is yet to come out of her bank account. We are unsure if the two things are related. She would like this full amount to come out of her bank account as one lump sum rather than over a period of time.
