digital gift-card delivery time

is there a reason why the wait time for purchasing one went from almost instantly, to about 15-30 mins, to 3(usually 4-5 for me) hours?
sometimes i want to buy or go eat something on my lunch break, without thinking about it 3-4 hours beforehand. i used to be able to buy it instantly but now i have to wait around for one. the amount of times i ordered something thinking it’d get sent instantly only to find out they changed the wait time for them is ridiculous.
is there a way to have them roll back on the time?
i’m a patient person but i genuinely don’t understand why so much time was added onto the delivery of one when it was perfectly fine before
