Differences between desktop and android PayPal – refund status

Hi all, A seller recently sent me a refund on PayPal as they had failed to send the purchased item. A few days later I received an email from PayPal stating that the refund didn’t complete and it is now listed as ‘Canceled’ on my desktop PayPal activity view. However, on my Android PayPal app it’s listed as ‘Refunded’. These obviously seem at odds. I have initiated a PayPal case but want to make absolutely sure that the refund failed. Which should I believe – the email and desktop PayPal refund status or the Android PayPal status? Thanks!
