balance of account

Hi Community, I hope this is a simple question. I have credit in my Paypal account. I tried to move it to my credit card only to find this transaction is not valid it has to go into a cheque account which I don’t own, that does not worry me but I have brought something online and used PayPal to pay for it. I can see the amount as a negative figure on the right from the online store I purchased my item but my balance is still the same, should it not have dropped by the amount I purchased? If this is not immediate does anyone know how long it takes to show up, it has been three days since I processed this transaction. Thanking you for your assistance in advance. Cheers
