Payments of eBay charges in AUD processed overseas?

Guys, I have discovered that my latest eBay bill for final value fees etc which was charged in AUD via PayPal to my Australian Mastercard, as been charged an overseas transaction fee – I spoke to PayPal and they said they don’t process Australian accounts outside Australia, but the charge on my card has the following description: « PAYPAL *EBAYMARKET[Removed. Phone #s not permitted]CHE »
The CHE means Switzerland.
Is there any way to avoid the foreign transaction fees with eBay using PayPal or do I need to pay them by direct debit?
