Pay in 4 Paypal also showing full amount of transaction as approved from vendor

I am about to give up. I am trying to purchase a Black Friday/ Cyber Monday deal through a website that redirects payment options through Paypal. I was unaware of the 4 payment method and when I saw it as an option I jumped right on it. When I checked my paypal account activity, it showed the full amount as well as the down payment for the amount. Both amounts also showed up as pending on my credit card used for the 4 payment method.
I have no way of contacting a human being right now associated with paypal to get an explanation as to what is going on. So I emailed the merchant. Unfortunately, their English doesn’t seem to be very good, and there is a language barrier. So no help there either. At this point I was forced to file a dispute with paypal. Tried to explain the situation in the details. They bounced it to the merchant. I sent the merchant another email trying to explain the situation and asking them not to cancel the order. Again, they didn’t seem to understand me, and canceled the order, and I am getting reimbursed for the transaction.
Thinking maybe I did something wrong, and not wanting to miss out of the deal, almost 20 percent off on an item that doesn’t go on sale often, I tried again tonight. It seems like the same thing is happening again though. The full amount has already been approved through paypal and the down payment is pending.
I have no idea what to do. I need to directly speak with customer support to try and get some sort of explanation. Every time I call, they kick me off the line when I ask to speak with someone.
If this doesn’t work, I am done with paypal and their 4 payment method.
