Paying closed Paypal Credit account for years

Description

Hello, I had a Paypal Credit account from 2015-2017 and then it seemed to have either changed to Paypal Mastercard through Synchrony, or my account was closed and I made a new one through Paypal Mastercard through Synchrony (it’s been years so forgive me for forgetting some details). Fast forward to now and I FINALLY noticed that my Bill Pay in my banking portal was still attached to the old account number (I guess I’ve been double-dipping my payments through my banking portal and my Synchrony portal). I’ve been on hold with Customer Support for a while now but wanted to see if anyone had any experience with this and has any idea if it’d be possible to get the money I’ve paid between 2018-2020 back… I’m surprised they didn’t bounce back but I guess they could have reassigned the account number to someone else. To be clear, I absolutely know this is my fault for not checking my statements more frequently for my Paypal Mastercard… Thanks!
