Paid eBay Purchase Using PayPal Goods & Services

Greetings! I purchased a gold sovereign on eBay for £317.50 from a seller whom I thought was reliable. I paid for the coin using PayPal Goods & Services so I would have buyer protection. Had I known then what I know now about the seller, I would never have done this. With a bit of research after my purchase, I found a news article pertaining to the conviction of the seller for an offence in 2011. He stole lead from the roof of a nightclub in Southampton and got 16 months prison. I have tried to open a case through PayPal but it keeps telling me that an error occurred. When I sent the money I stated clearly what I was paying for and included a link to the item. What should I do? It is very apparent that the seller has absolutely no intention of sending me the item. Please help. I have been in touch with my bank to pursue a chargeback. Regards, Duncan.
