Description
I’m pleased that we can use a soft token generator for 2FA, thanks PayPal!
But of course we all need a backup, especially for 2FA, the options there are SMS, which is arguably insecure and a PayPal proprietary keyfob. Any idea why we do not have the ability to subscribe a single common hardtoken such as YubiKey, Titan, etc.? Using a soft token plus SMS for backup is really no better than using SMS other than being more convenient for me. Anyone trying to illicitly access my account and having the ability to spoof SMS, which is well documented (for instance here: https://www.zdnet.com/article/microsoft-urges-users-to-stop-using-phone-based-multi-factor-authentic… ) can simply select SMS. I hope that PayPal will enable both convenience (like a single hardtoken) and security (such as a way to use 2FA without SMS.
Any thoughts would be welcomed.
