my paypal pool closed earlier than the date I set it for

I have a paypal pool set up to take payments for a birthday present for a colleague and set the close date as the 3rd of August, today is the 31st July and It is showing as closed now, and is not taking further payments. I expect most people will add to this today and tomorrow as its the weekend, can you please help me fix it? there is no option in the manage pool section to change it and the close date is still showing as the 3rd of Aug!?
