Not in Teams directly using the existing search / command bar, but you can click Open in SharePoint and use SharePoint’s search to find folders no problem in the Teams Document library. You could also add the search page to the library as a Tab on your channel with the documents with the folders needing searched as well.

In my team we have around 700 files saved onto MS Teams under a channel. When you search for the name of the file in the search bar and select files on the left hand side you get a message saying We didn’t find any matches. The file is in in the folder and I can search for it if I open up the file structure in Sharepoint. Now this is a work around but I have 100+ looking for these files each day. Is there anyway for the MS teams search to work as it should?

The search feature for files in Teams could only search for files in Recent( recently shared ): You can see these in Files page from the left menu: To search these files, you could use /files in the search box: But for the downloaded files or files in a channel, you can’t directly search for them. You should open the download folder or open the SharePoint site to search these files. Also, OneDrive files can’t be searched in Teams, you should open in OneDrive to do so.
