Selling $1000+ item through paypal.

Description

I had an item up on ebay and received a message through ebay after talking back and forth with the potential buyer a bit to send a video and pictures of the item to the buyers phone number. After I sent the pictures and video, I was told he would be « making payment through paypal goods and service protection » I asked how that works and he replied with « Once I make the payment you will receive a confirmation email from my paypal and we require for a postage proof which is the tracking number once you reply the tracking number to the email confirmation you receive from paypal the funds will be released let me know if you understand that Thanks. » After telling him to just purchase it through ebay he replies with « Okay send a PayPal request of the total amount to my PayPal email at (removed). so i can proceed with the payment and you can have the items ship for me as soon as possible Thanks » Now everything about this screams scam to me due to the fact I was selling this item on ebay and now he wants me to send an invoice to his email through paypal. He claims this is so he can have protection through paypal.
