STORYLINE:

Hundreds of people marched Saturday through the streets of Barcelona expressing their support for the Palestinian people in the context of the current war between Israel and Hamas militants in the Gaza strip.

Among the protesters were Palestinian nationals accompanied by immigrants from other Arab countries, as well as Spaniards.

The protest started at the Raval neighbourhood, where a large Arab community lives, and finished outside the European Union regional representation building downtown.

From Bangladesh to Las Vegas and Brazil to Rome, demonstrations by supporters of Israel and Palestine were held around the world as people took to the streets to express their views as the conflict escalated.

Thousands of people march through Sydney’s CBD for Palestine

Up to 15,000 people have marched through Sydney’s CBD for Palestine as the conflict worsens in Gaza. The demonstration was peaceful, with police confirming they had made no arrest. Members of the community gathered for their largest demonstration since the escalation of violence. The group marched from Sydney’s Town Hall to Belmont Park under the watchful eye of more than 830 police officers.
