I have read several posts by users related to buyer protection, but I am still not clear. I wish to purchase an e-bike (a battery augmented mountain bike. This is not classified as a motor vehicle by the state) for about $2500 from an individual who lives several states away. I want to know how I can be protected from fraud. I have spoken to the seller via phone. I am requested to send the money by PayPal to his personal account. He will then package and ship the bicycle. I am concerned that I send the money and that the bicycle is not delivered. Or, that something that is not equivalent to the advertised bicycle is shipped to me. I believe the seller is operating in good faith, but in such cases, do I have protection from PayPal? If no, is there some other escrow service that could offer protection? Any advice would be appreciated. Much obliged
