Windows 10 Explorer separates files/folders by date
Using Explorer in Windows 10, my Download directory has started to organize itself by the date files were downloaded or modified. It’s a real hassle. The separators are for today, yesterday, earlier this week, last week and a long time ago. In each of these sections, the folders are sorted by name, etc.

Windows 10 Explorer sort by date in filename, character recognition …
1. In Windows 10 Enterprise Explorer, I need to sort and therefore see and search each file named: DD-Mon-Year any other text. Or if not possible, any good 3rd party add-ons available with a simple UI that integrates well with Windows 10? (I’ve reluctantly accepted having to rename them individually by the given date and reference, but this is how my work is …

They’re sorted out by date, as you can see at the top, the arrow pointing down after I clicked at the top of date created column. Ok, they look like they are sorted by name to me. The arrow is just a drop down for more options. You have to click IN the box where it says Date Created. Hard to tell exactly where you clicked.

How to mix folders and files when sorting by date on Windows 8 Explorer
Andrew (as well as me) had positive experience with Windows 7 — there you can actually sort items in Explorer by date WITHOUT separating files from folders. Files and folders go mixed (NOT separately) — that’s what Andrew and me had in Windows 7 — and we want in Windows 8. I hope this is clear now. A solution, anyone?

Any way to list folders and files mixed (sorted by date) in Explorer …
However, Windows continues to first display all the files sorted by descending order of date and then display all the folders that are sorted by descending order of date.
