quel mouvement social accueille la victoire du front populaire ?

The social movement that welcomed the victory of the Popular Front in France was the wave of strikes and protests known as the “grèves de joie” or “joyful strikes.” These strikes were a celebration of the political success of the left-wing coalition, which included the SFIO, the Radical Party, and the Communist Party, and their victory in the 1936 elections.

These strikes were part of a broader workers’ mobilization that sought to capitalize on the political triumph and push for significant social reforms. The period following the Popular Front’s victory led to important labor laws, such as the Matignon Accords, which introduced the 40-hour workweek and other labor rights, reflecting the workers’ demands for better working conditions and social justice.
