Was told my account tried to “withdraw†500$ twice from a friend today

I got told by a family friend that someone tried to take 500$ twice from his account today, and I know it wasn’t me. It also doesn’t show up in my transactions so I’m not sure if he’s just confused or if something weird is going on. (he’s older so “withdraw†may not be the best word) I don’t have his debit card information (apparently it was tried on an old debit card) but from what I gather it looks like someone may have tried using my account to withdraw funds from his bank? I’m not sure how that would work.
