Payoneer Cancelled Transaction refunded
### Title: Payoneer Cancelled Transaction Refund: A Case Study and Advice
#### Introduction
Hey everyone,
Today, I want to share a recent experience I had with Payoneer and PayPal that involved a refunded transaction and the challenges I faced trying to understand the process. It’s a story about patience, persistence, and the importance of communication in financial transactions.
On June 29th, I mistakenly transferred funds from my PayPal account to a non-active Payoneer account. The transaction was made using an old Bank of America account that was provided to me years ago. Since the Payoneer account was not active, I couldn’t receive the funds, and consequently, Payoneer processed a refund.
#### The Refund Process
The refund process initiated by Payoneer has been quite lengthy, and I’m still figuring out exactly why it’s taking so long. Today, I received an email from Payoneer containing details about the transaction. To my surprise, the return message stated “R23_CreditEntryRefusedByReceiver.” Initially, I thought this was good news, as it seemed to confirm that my funds were being refunded. However, on closer inspection, it became clear that this was a different matter altogether.
The “R23_CreditEntryRefusedByReceiver” message suggests that the refund attempt hit a roadblock. In this case, it means that when Payoneer attempted to refund the money, PayPal, which should have received the funds back, didn’t accept it. Hence, the need to understand why PayPal refused the refund at the receiver end.
#### Attempting to Connect with PayPal
Determined to resolve this issue, I tried contacting PayPal for support. However, I found it challenging to provide PayPal the details Payoneer had sent me about the transaction. PayPal’s customer service support doesn’t seem to have a straightforward method for accepting such specific transaction details to track the transaction.
#### Questions and Solutions
Given the situation, a few questions come to mind:
1. **Timeline:** How long can such a refund process take? Are these delays typical, or should I be worried?
2. **Communication:** Is it normal to have such poor visibility into what’s happening with the refund? How can I get better support from both Payoneer and PayPal?
3. **Resolution:** Is there a specific way to escalate or contact PayPal about this particular transaction issue?
#### Conclusion
This experience highlights the importance of having a robust support system in place when dealing with cross-platform financial transactions. It also underscores the need for better communication and traceability in these transactions to minimize the frustration of both the user and the service providers.
If any of you have had similar experiences or have advice on how to handle this situation, please share it below. Your stories and advice can help not only me but others who might be going through something similar.
Thank you for reading, and I look forward to your comments and suggestions.
Best,
[Your Name]

### Additional Tips for Handling Cross-Platform Transactions
1. **Verify the Recipient:** Always double-check the recipient details, especially when sending a significant amount.
2. **Keep Records:** Keep a record of all transactions and details of the recipients.
3. **Reach Out Promptly:** If you encounter any issues, contact the service providers as soon as possible.
4. **Escalate if Necessary:** If the issue isn’t resolved through standard customer support, consider escalating your case to a higher level within the company.
