Check Tools -> Rules and Alerts to see if there is a rule causing the problem. In recent versions of Outlook there are additional settings under File -> Options -> Mail -> Replies and Forwards. Also check Options -> Mail -> Inbox and Sweep Rules. You can as well check your sign in activity to know if there’s compromise on your account.

Hello all, I have been receiving complaints from employees that sometimes when you reply or forward an external email the email body in the original message disappears. It’s kept in the body of the first forward/reply sometimes, but not always.
From email details disappearing on forward/reply
1. In Outlook client, go to File > Options > Mail > Replies and forwards, set the value of When forwarding a message to Attach original message (see below picture) then check the result. 2. Press Win + R at the same time and copy and paste Outlook /safe in the open field to start Outlook in safe mode to see if there is any difference.

When I reply or forward an email, the text of the original email I am responding to disappears, including any attachments. If I close the email and try again, one time in about 10 the text of the original email will just show up. So I literally have to try sending a reply 8, 10, 12 times before it works, but it does sometimes work.

Have a look around the view settings of Outlook. You may have inadvertently set your inbox to only show unread messages. When you forward a message it is technically marked as read so Outlook (according to your view settings) makes the message disappear. Reset the view and you should see all your messages (read + unread) together. –

14 avr. 2022Forwarding incoming emails-Original not saving in my inbox. When I forward an email and later go back to the inbox to access it, more often than not the email is no longer in my inbox. I had my Outlook set up to same original messages in folder and had no problems until about 2 months ago. This has happened before and now is happening again.
