Much like in the first to Shin Megami Tensei games, it’s pretty tricky to get the Neutral ending in SMTIV. Not only are there no actual neutral choices to make (meaning you have to actually be neutral throughout the game to get the Neutral route), but, thanks to the alignment math, it’s actually possible to be too neutral to get the Neutral ending.
How to get neutral ending
If your alignment falls in neutral AFTER you make the final choice, you’ll be locked into neutral route. the tricky part is that cynical man won’t be able to help you between the two points there.
