Why / How do the animatronics actually kill you?
In the first game it is stated that the animatronics think you’re a skeleton without a suit and stuff you in one, which of course kills you. How ever, in the second game, the phone guy mentions that during the night, they think they’re in the wrong room and just go look for some people.

Why do the animatronics kill you? (security breach spoilers)
From my understanding in fnaf 1 & 2 the animatronics kill you because they don’t know who william afton is or who they were killed by, the animatronics in 4 not actually being real and springtrap killing you in any appearance because, well, he’s a serial killer.
