They want your text number so they can send you a fake text that you have been paid, hoping you will fall for it. As an added bonus scam, they will ask you to send it to a different address to someone as a gift and ask you to buy gift cards to include in the package. All of which they will not pay for. Don’t fall for it.

Scammers target new sellers with a text in order to take the transaction off of the eBay platform. Their next move would be to ask for your paypal email and shipping details so that they can send you a fake email saying you have been paid, when you haven’t.

One to lie to me and the other to do what I ask in 5 minutes. I do it every week it seems. I don’t want the buyer to have two extra weeks from the time the case literally says they have. I don’t understand why the secret rule of eBay returns is Providing buyers 15 business days to return an item and that isn’t stated ANYWHERE inside the case.

eBay doesn’t post your phone number, but buyers can do an information request to get it. You will also get an email with the buyer’s address and phone number. If they haven’t bought anything, they can research based on your username. For example: Your eBay username is burgerboy653 and your eBay location is New York, NY.
