How to Remove Payment Authorization

Description

I was placing an order online but when I was making the payment, I was interrupted by an error from the merchant’s site. Paypal confirms that payment was authorized and account already debited but cannot see any order placed nor can I continue placing one on the Merchant’s site. How can I have the payment authorization removed? Until when does it usually last? Thanks
