5 nov. 2023(In Latin the letter ‘J’ only came into being fairly recently. ‘J’ can be directly translated from ‘I’ in names like January, June and July). All of the months were allocated between 28 and 31 days, and this enabled the 12 months to equal 355 days – a fairly precise figure matching 12 Lunar cycles (though not, of course, the Solar year).
