27 When referencing For loop variable within a batch file you need to double up the percent signs (ie: %%a ), but if you do this when just running the command straight at the prompt it won’t work. You need to change them to a single percent sign ( %a ).

Therefore the line: IF %isDefault%==y ( is problematic because isDefault isn’t set when the outer IF statement is parsed, so it becomes: IF ==y (

G was unexpected at this time. So it seems like you can’t use the for loop parameter, I’ve also tried replacing %G with %%G like in scripts. When I change the letter to X, I get The system cannot find the path specified. from the last echo, which confirms that there’s something happening sooner.

no – in your title there are different types of quotes (‘inverted’ and ‘straight’ quotes). Plus, the version shown in the linked answer should be run directly form command line, not as batch file (if you want to run it from batch, replace %f with %%f. @wmz Hm. It says the syntax of the command is incorrect.

8 Your startchoice isn’t being set correctly. Use the alternate syntax for set /p where you supply the prompt there (and remove the space between startchoice and the assignment ( =) operator – I think it’s actually the cause of the problem, but you can reduce your batch file by a line if you use the set /p = syntax).

How do i do fix the %%i was unexpected at this time?
1 Answer. Create a test.bat with this code. switch out the two GOTO lines to see which works best for you BY COMMENTING THEM OUT WITH :: GOTO TEST1 :: GOTO TEST2. I don’t have this program so it is untested. Hope this helps give you some ideas on how you can utilize the for command.
