Today, I want to address a common issue that many eBay sellers face: How do you accept payment from a buyer when PayPal doesn’t show any pending payment? This very scenario happened to me recently, and I want to share what I found out.

On January 30, I successfully sold an item on eBay. I followed up with the buyer promptly as instructed, only to find out that they had sent the payment immediately after the auction ended. My PayPal account, however, showed no pending transaction or any sign of the payment.

Given that PayPal is supposed to take care of the transactions, this was confusing. I reached out to the buyer to confirm that indeed they had sent the payment, and they assured me that it had been processed and was awaiting my acceptance.

3. **Contact PayPal Support:** If you still don’t see the transaction, don’t panic. Contact PayPal customer support with your eBay transaction ID and other details to track down the payment.

4. **Check Transaction Details on eBay:** If PayPal support cannot immediately resolve the issue, check the eBay transaction details page. You can find a link to any related PayPal transaction right there.

5. **Resend the Payment Link via eBay:** In your eBay seller account, you can find the payment link under the listing details. Copy and send this link to the buyer, instructing them to make the payment again if needed.

6. **Manual Release on eBay:** If the payment link option is not available, you can manually release payment by going to your eBay seller account and clicking on “Resolution Center.” From there, select the transaction and follow the prompts to release the payment.

After following steps 2 to 5, I discovered my pending payment and accepted it. The buyer’s payment was credited to my PayPal account as expected.

Remember, patience is key when dealing with online transactions. It’s always a good idea to communicate with your buyer and seek help from PayPal support if necessary. By staying organized and proactive, you can ensure smooth transactions and maintain a good relationship with your buyers.
