Trouble adding money to my account

Im in the US and Ive had this account for year but haven’t used it in almost that long. I wanted to start using paypal but for various reasons I can add money to my account. 1) I get an error when trying to link my bank. the closest to completion error states linking your account failed. we need more info » or something like that. doesn’t tell me what info is needed nor anyplace to provide it 2) can’t find the routing number. the online help says to go to settings and click the setup direct deposit link. but no link there. further help says you need a PayPal Cash Plus account. so ok maybe I dont have that type. so how do I upgrade to that. no further info on how to do this can be found. «
