I won the same thing. A bunch of points and then BAM an Xbox Elite Controller. It was version 1, but also you don’t win the controller you win a credit to your Microsoft account for the total value of the prize ($190 CDN). I ended up buying an XB1S Star Wars bundle and sold it for some cash.

I see MS as untrustworthy because the accumulated points come from spending money with Microsoft and using their platform willingly over other competitors. They introduced the rewards program to give us opportunity to win something back, in this case, the pinata and last time a similar setup by hitting and refreshing.
