Did I Stop A Scam (and next steps)?

Today I received a notification that I got $50 deposited into my account. That was weird. So I did some checking and noticed someone hacked my account and was attempting to send that $50 to a third party. It was like my account was the middle man for some reason. Anyways, I stopped it, resecured my account, but now the question is what’s up with this money? I don’t know enough about this scam, if it was one, to know if it’s stolen or not. Because the account that deposited the money was the one hacking into my account. And honestly I don’t want to refund it back. They’re a **bleep**.
