PayPal purchase of farm cash — Added $1.00 tax

I just purchased some Farm Cash for Country Life Meadows and was asked to give address, so I did. Then paid what I thought was $9.99 .. got a receipt a few mins later with $1.00 Tax added!! I have NEVER paid tax on a game purchase. Is this something new? I couldn’t find anything on it in Paypal. Wonder if I used a differnt way to log into Paypal? Never had been asked to give address. Thank for an answer — I usually do NOT buy Farm cash or any game cash. Now I’m afraid to!! Don’t they have to show this before we approve??
