I know this is a community based forum but just venting a little. For me, the business debit MasterCard is almost the perfect debit card. I can use it with my PayPal balance, there is the cash back, but there is one glaring omission. It supports almost all digital wallets such as Android Pay, Samsung Pay EXCEPT Apple Pay. Sure I can use the NFC chip in the card itself for contactless payments in stores, however NFC payments using a phone work much better than using the card. Putting a phone next to a payment terminal and it’s almost instantaneous that the terminal picks up the payment. Using the card and sometimes I have to hold it there for 5-10 seconds before the terminal registers the payment. Plus I have to carry the card around with me when I already have my phone with me. This issue is minor but frustrating because if I had an Android phone I could use a digital wallet but I’m unable to because I have an iPhone. The second issue is because the debit card doesn’t support Apple Pay, I’d have to give out the card number if I want to pay with the card in certain apps and websites. Some apps and websites support Apple Pay for taking payments. I don’t want to risk putting a debit card info into an app or website and risk the info getting stolen. Apple Pay would help prevent that risk, but the debit card doesn’t support Apple Pay. I’ve been using the debit card for lots of monthly purchases but if PayPal doesn’t have plans to support Apple Pay, I’ll going to start to look for an alternative product and discontinue it’s use.
