**The Oddities of Pay in 4: A Troubling Anecdote**

As our online shopping landscape continues to evolve, payment platforms like PayPal are constantly adapting to meet the needs of buyers. One of these features, Pay in 4, allows customers to divide their payment into four equal installments during an online transaction. However, despite this convenience, some issues have emerged.

I recently experienced one of them. While making an online order, I decided to opt for Pay in 4. But before finalizing the payment, I changed my mind and canceled the operation. I went back and added more items to my cart, then completed the purchase using Pay in 4. However, upon checking my PayPal account, I found that only the second Pay in 4 transaction was pending payment. My credit card showed authorizations for both transactions, as the second one had been settled similarly.

But the most disturbing part was when I discovered that the merchant had indeed shipped and processed the order I never validated. I tried to cancel the order, but the company’s response was painfully slow, and there was no phone contact option. It seems that I now owe payment for only one part of my order, while two orders were processed by the merchant.
