Pay In 4 Instalments: A Baffling Experience

Dear fellow shoppers,

Yesterday, on March 12, 2020, I attempted to purchase some items from Gamestop’s website using the “Pay in 4” installment option, which allows payments to be made in four installments. Unfortunately, my experience has been anything but smooth. Here are the details of my current predicament.

After carefully selecting my items and setting the payment option to “Pay in 4,” I proceeded to input my payment information and finished the checkout process. Normally, I would expect some sort of order confirmation or thank-you message immediately after the transaction, but surprisingly, the system provided me with no such confirmation.

As days have passed, I have noticed the following issues:

• No Confirmation: I did not receive any confirmation email, order number, or any other form of order documentation; the items remain in my cart on the website.
• First Payment Deducted: The first installment has already been charged to my account, which is positive in terms of the transaction having taken place. However, the subsequent installments and lack of order information are deeply problematic.
• No Details on PayPal: When I logged into my PayPal account to check the details of the transaction, I found absolutely no information about this order or the payment process I went through. This is particularly disturbing as PayPal is usually quite thorough in its transaction logging.

This whole situation raises several questions:

• Will I receive the items at all?
• How can I keep track of future installments without any official order details?
• Is this a common issue or am I the only one facing this?

Searching online for similar issues has proven difficult as I am yet to come across a post or forum thread describing exactly the same problem. If anyone else has faced a similar issue while using Gamestop’s “Pay in 4” feature, sharing your experiences or insights would be greatly appreciated. Equally helpful would be any solutions or advice from those who have navigated similar waters and successfully received their orders.

So far, I have not reached out to Gamestop customer service about this matter, but I may need to do so soon if I don’t hear back about my order or get any additional information concerning the transaction.
