**Un message suspect**

I recently received a suspicious text message that got me thinking. Unfortunately, I’m not the only one to have received this kind of message. I wanted to share it with you to see if you’ve ever received similar messages.

Here’s the message:

“Paypal: we’ve limited your account due to security concerns. Please visit this link before we’re forced to close your account.”

At first, I want to tell you that it’s a good thing to be cautious! Indeed, this message has several red flags that should raise your suspicions.

1. **Urgency**: Scammers often try to create a sense of urgency to get quick and thoughtless responses.
2. **The link**: Scammers often use suspicious links or redirect links to malicious websites.
3. **Action required**: The requirement to visit the link before the account is closed is a classic element of scams.

**What to do?**

If you receive a similar message, follow these steps:

* Don’t click on the link.
* Don’t hit the “Reply” or “Confirm” button.
* Contact PayPal directly to check if your account is actually limited and why.
